Capital City Go-Go: Education Day Game

  • Entertainment and Sports Arena 1100 Oak Drive Southeast Washington, DC, 20032 United States (map)

Capital City Go-Go Education Day is an opportunity for D.C. area students to learn and engage with the rich history and the various stylistic elements related to the go-go music genre.

Performed, exhibited, and demonstrated alongside one of the most popular sports today — basketball — students can explore the rich tradition and history of D.C.’s go-go music and connect their experience with classroom lessons in music, visual arts, and social studies at all levels of instruction (elementary, middle, and high school).

This event is sponsored by Capital City Go-Go, DC Public Library, and Globe Printing at Maryland Institute College of Art in partnership with Teach the Beat, a project of Teaching for Change.
