About this event

This film looks at how Salvadoran artists who fled the civil war in the early 1980s — poets, musicians, choreographers, photographers — made art out of war. The film features interviews, historical footage, and samples of each artist’s work. The film is in Spanish and English, with subtitles.

The premiere event will include:

  • The presence of the artists and Q and A after the film.

  • The gallery of the theatre will feature photographs and artwork by Salvadoran artists and music recorded for the film by local musicians.

  • An opportunity to urchase artwork and books by Salvadoran artists.

  • Film-related merchandise will be for sale.

  • A cash bar.

  • After screening celebration (music and dance) from 9:30 pm to 10:30 pm.
