How can we empower students so that they can bring their best selves to the museum and classroom? How can teachers feel empowered to use museum resources and teach through art in their classrooms? How can art be used to address the issues we face in the world today?

Explore the museum after hours.
Drop into activities: Make art and play Art Card games.
Become the student: Sample a school tour on topics such as Awakening the Senses and Making Meaning: Why Museums Matter.
Get empowered: Learn about #5WomenArtists from the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) whose artworks are tools for social justice. NMWA educators will share stories, facilitate conversations, and answer questions about these powerful women.
Experience a workshop: William Gropper wielded the power of his brush to tell hard truths about the political and social ills of society. Participate in an interactive workshop in the galleries about the power of art, and consider how to empower yourself and your students this school year.
Expand your network: Learn about opportunities to get involved with D.C. Area Educators for Social Justice.
